Space Overview

Renting At 447 Minna

Located in the heart of San Francisco’s vibrant and diverse SoMa district, 447 Minna is a unique, historic gem that offers up to 1,700 square feet of event space, including a black box theater, state-of-the-art conference room, and open-concept box office.

As a multidisciplinary space, we welcome all arts and culture uses from around the Bay Area, especially those with ties to the SoMa neighborhood and/or are located in zip codes that directly impact the immediate community.

These include: 94103, 94110, 94112, 94124, and 94134

Affordable & Local

Organizations and artists located in the zip codes above will receive a discounted rate for use of the building, noted as a neighborhood rate in our pricing.

Prior to hiring, all open positions are circulated with local community groups, arts and culture organizations and District 6 zip codes. Part of our community engagement efforts involves connecting with local and hyperlocal organizations to enhance our ability to hire from the neighborhood.

Access for All

We strive to provide broader access to art and cultural practices, education, and resources not currently or widely available in SoMa.

Our goal is to create less barriers for artists, organizations, and community residents to participate and more opportunities to engage in dialogues beyond the traditional “institution”.

Incubating New Ideas

We see our space as a “living lab”, open for testing and experimenting with new ideas. We seek to host organizations, artists, and community residents in need of Infrastructure, Visibility, Space, and/or Pop Up Space. By offering inclusive and intergenerational programs and events, we hope to cultivate a continuum of artists and cultural workers that uplift and support the community. The spaces at 447 Minna are intended to be a community asset, one that is welcoming to everyone, from artists who are emerging to those who are more established.
